Following 24 years of strong, focused leadership under numerous presidents, I now assume the office of president of NTDU Americas Inc. as we embark on a path of change that mirrors the movement of the tides within our community. Over the past year, NTDU Americas has distributed more than $35,000.00 to 2,000 indigent recipients, including widows, widowers, orphans, and the disabled.
As we ease into 2023, we intend to continue our philanthropic ways and look to expand our reach. Combined with our leadership programming and advocacy efforts, especially with the in-roads we have built over the past few years with our organization’s fast rising Nimo Young Professionals (NYPs), we understand that the changes we have embarked upon are ones truly needed for our organization to continue its commitment of improving the lives of others within its community as the “older guards” look toward retirement from their active roles in steering the organization and to sustain the current momentum of growth.
NTDU Americas Inc continues to thrive in its philanthropic quest because of, in part, the tremendous support of everyone within its domain of membership. We are unable to do this alone. It is the support of our dedicated and humble members that makes this possible. We extend much appreciation and gratitude to all of them for being a part of our goal of creating a community that is healthy, inclusive, and focused on improving the lives of others who otherwise would be left behind, not just for today, but for generations to come. I am convinced that together we can move mountains.
Nnaelue John Akunne
